Surface Treatments
Standard
Sanded smooth to the touch. Frames and tops retain sawmill marks, nail holes, and other deep signs of age and wear. Doors, drawer faces, and side panels are planed smooth which removes most sawmill marks but preserves nail holes and deep signs of age and wear.
Standard pieces are finished with a high-quality oil varnish in your choice of Gloss, Satin, or Matte. This varnish imparts a warm amber color to the wood.
Alternate finishes available include crystal clear polyurethane varnish which does not color the wood.
Whitewash or stained finishes are also available.
Rustic
Sanded just enough to prevent splinters. Rough, original appearance retaining sawmill marks, nail holes, and other signs of age and wear on all surfaces. Note that Rustic pieces generally cost 10-15% more as they are significantly more time-consuming to make.
Rustic pieces are finished with a high-quality Matte varnish.
Door Panel Options
Door panels are made from solid oak planks approximately 5/8” thick.
